Thanks man. Its been such a rough month for me. I remember reading yours (it was about taking her to that play, right?) There have been quite a few posts about relationships lately) and it really sucks.

I was really trying to look because I do not know if she is still single or with that kid. Last I heard she "kind of was" but usually she is quick to change her status on FB. Neither her nor him did, so i don't know. I really dont want to ask her out if she is taken.

But now Facebook is mocking me, telling me to "ask". damn.. its low.

Damn. Sorry man, I mean, really. I don't know how the text that appears in your screen coming from my keyboard will make the situation any better. But what the hell, Im giving it a try. You have to do something to make yourself feel better. Buy a Lego, try and do a front-flip, or learn a rap. Whatever it is you always wanted to learn but never had the dedication to, this is probably a good time. If you just don't feel like it, go to a parking lot and handbrake turn the hell of the Civic. After you have smiled (because that is the only true evidence of happiness), you can just brainstorm about what you are going to do with a bit more patience. I hate sounding like an elementary counsellor, but thats just what I always do. Be happy, because no matter what happens between you and this girl will never affect the appreciation of Opponauts toward you,included myself!

So I went on to see...

I guess she doesn't have one listed, but where it says Relationship status: it is saying "ASK" - basically mocking me.

And yes I did actually. I left school a few minutes early to beat all the traffic and buses and drove during that time. I rolled all the windows down and turned off the music. I just enjoyed the pretty much open roads (and almost killed a squirrel; but thats a different story)

It really does help man. I actually left school a few minutes early today to beat out the traffic and buses and I just drove. I turned off the radio rolled down the window and drove. I enjoyed the fairly open road. Didn't do anything too crazy, but just spirited down one of the only twisty roads near me. It put a small smile on my face; which was a nice change.

I picked up this model car the other day and am now going to start building it since it should be relaxing.

People like you are why I love Oppo. I hope to be able to help any one of you guys when Im better and maybe you're not...

And yeah, that was me. It was fun for a bit, but the girl I'm dating turned out to want me to behave completely differently around her and our shared friends.

Little bit of background: I'm the most flamboyant straight guy you will meet. I WILL comment on your outfit, and I have been known to lash out at people who mismatch their clothes (...but seriously, you can't wear a red T-shirt, green and blue shorts, and a light blue hoodie... with neon green shoes! uggggghhhh.... some people) And this girl is very reserved. now, if she was OK with me being like I am, I wouldn't have a problem. It's the fact that in the 3 weeks we've been dating , she's already pulled me aside for 3o minutes to tell me how I need to "control myself."

I have no intention on completely changing my everything to fit her wants, so i'll be breaking up with her in the coming week or so...

Little tip on dating: The worst thing you can do is NOT ask. Seriously, what's the worst that can happen? she says no? ok, cool, move on to the next girl. Like me, you're a sophomore in high school. At this point in your life, the last thing you should be doing is taking relationships overly seriously! That's how I see it, and it has been working out quite well for me (for the most part)

Oh okay.. its kind of hard to keep track of everyone whos been helping me, sorry.

So I will try and make this fairly brief, it wont be, but I can try.

It all started the first day of school when I first saw her. I really liked her then. And I got close to her and began talking to her a lot. We became friends, but before I could ask her out (for a lot of reasons; I had no money, and no license , and no car so I couldn't even drive). So someone else did. And I was okay with this. We still talked a lot since we were friends. Well they broke up a few months later. And she got really close to me. She was real flirty and sweet and cute and I liked it, but for some reason, I just never tried to make a move. It never clicked in my mind that we had a chance. So I never did anything. So she looked elsewhere and met Josh.

Her and Josh started dating in March. In late April, I guess they broke up (I wasn't paying much attention).

First week of may, I had this dream out of nowhere that involved me being with her. She messaged me saying she liked me and I picked her up and we drove for hours smiling. And I really wanted that to be true. So I began talking to her again.

I got honest with her and told her I liked her and wanted to go see a movie or something like that. She told me that "She already knew that" and said that Im a great guy and anythings possible and we have a chance at being something.... and I was very happy with this. So again we got close and started talking a lot...

It was the Monday after this. We were talking and she told me something. "You know how I didn't respond to you on Sunday?" "Well, Im sorry but Josh came over and we made up and we are kind of back together."

I said okay and asked what she meant with "kind of back together. She said that Josh broke up with her a few times and he is scared of commitment and doesn't want to be hurt so he never gets real close. i asked why she stayed with him. she said she did kind of like him and she wouldnt still be hanging around if she didn't.

So here I was really hurt, so right then and there I tried to end it. I told her that the current way things are going, I dont have a chance to be anything more than acquaintances with you. She responded so quickly clearly upset. Saying that we are still friends and we can talk anytime since she likes it. She then got really personal, telling me things no one knows about her, things that made me feel awful for her.

So I was right back with her again. Then the other night, she messaged me asking about a project in history class. As we were talking, her friend took the phone and said, "hey this is so and so, her friend." she then took it back and said "im at a friends house, sorry." and I asked why she was still talking with me. She said, "Because I want to and I like to :)" So I was confused again by this.

So now, I have this plan to ask her to my local Cars And Coffee coming up on June 7th. i don't know why, I bet she'll say no, but Im still thinking of it.

So the challenge here is I don't know what she thinks of me or if she is single or what...

And can I fill you in on a secret? I am one insecure mothefucker. Everyone around me seems to have their shit figured out, and yet I'm just here, realizing "oh, wait, I should go to college in 2 years, shouldn't I?" I try not to worry about stuff much, and trust me, having an "aintcare" attitude seems to work well with relationships.

All you have to tell yourself is this: "Oh, she doesn't/can't go out with me? that's a shame, it's her loss though!"

that sounds like highschool alright only somewhere like that could something so convoluted take place. I have a thought but it might not be something you want to hear. I would say she definitely likes you but maybe not as much or in the way you want. As for cars and coffee it seems like a great idea if she's into cars but id wait til your sure about her relationship status since no one wants to be the other guy. This is all just my opinion bout it and I could easily be wrong since I don't know the full story but there's my 2 cents best of luck to you though.

Ive loved their music since they first debuted with the song that sums up my luck lately, "Sometime Around Midnight"

Its funny, i remember when this song first came out. I was still young and not into relationships or anything yet. When the song first came on in the car ride with my dad, he told me how powerful and depressing it was. I just thought it was slow and boring. Listening now, it almost makes me tear up every time. Fun fact, its what you hear in the opening of the video for "Changing"

Im kind of the same way. Just last week, we had some college representatives come in and talk. I then realized: oh shit. Ill be going to college in two years. I need to actually think about this.

Its the same with homework. Crap, I should try and get that done to get a good grade.

I need to realize that with relationships.

I had a gf once. And it was perfect since we both never thought of it as that much since we were young. I actually met her at the NY Auto Show in 2012. And we just clicked. I spent the whole day with her walking around the show. Luckily, she lived like 20 minutes from me so we could actually hang out. I only broke up with her because I had to move back to Fl (we lasted about 5 months) and it worked since nothing was ever really planned. Our conversations would be like,

"Whats up?"

"Nothing much, just finishing homework."

"Wanna go see that new movie?"

"yeah." and it would happen. Now that im older, Im ovethinking things.

And the worst part to me is im not trying to gain much out of this. i want a good friend. I want someone I can joke around with and be myself around. I want happiness. Im not trying to find a soul mate. Im not trying to get laid every night. Its not who i am. I just want a really good friend. But nowadays, it seems to be too much to ask for.

Speaking of the dash on my Civic, i played a really good prank on her a few days ago. She was going to be driving it, so I switched it from MPH to KPH. Because its digital, only one is shown at a time. So, as she got onto the main road, where the speed limit is 45, the car said she was doing around 85. And she panicked. And slowed down until she was going about 45 KPH, or about 20 MPH. She wanted to kill me but it made me laugh

Thanks. And thats my thinking too. I think I had a chance, but blew it because I wasn't ready. She loves driving and is somewhat into cars, but not like us. But i figured its a good, fun, public event with free food and games and entertainment and is not romantic at all.
But I really need to find out if she is with that guy or not, and that Facebook answer really didn't help me... So I think Im going to have to ask a friend; which is awkward but needs to be done.

Because looking back, i did forget one part from that story earlier.

Right before she got Josh, so right after she got really close to me, there was a conversation. She messaged me saying, "Can I ask you something? Its kinda a secret." I was hoping it was here she'd tell me she liked me. But damn was I fucking wrong.

"Do you know a kid named .... because I like him..." she was asking me about ANOTHER guy. It was there that i knew I was friend zoned. So I am a backup guy who she can just rant to me about and talk to but never be concerned with me.

I don't mind that you're being talkative, This is quite fun! plus, since I'm on the west coast, it's only 9PM for me!When it comes to having friends to talk to, I guess I've been lucky with the fact that I've got quite a few I can turn to (if you want, I can shoot you a FB friend request, since I'm always in the mood to chat, haha! :D) so I wouldn't truly understand your predicament, but I can tell you that friendships are a good place to start if you want to kick off a relationship (but I guess you know that already) Yeah, I had a relationship like that as well, a casual one. They work the best, and that's where my philosophy of "don't take it too seriously" stems from.And yay for not knowing what we'll do in 2 years!The song? yeah, it is quite powerful! I like it! I'm already adding some to my phone as we speak! for someone whose music repertoire consists of everything, this appeals to my "I need to relax, and just not think" mood.Strangely enough, I can connect with Avicii's "Hey brother" quite a bit.

It kinda describes me as a person, or at least how I hope people see me.

Yeah, I'm from Serbia, more usually known as Yugoslavia to some people. I grew up there, and moved to Seattle/Redmond, WA about 3 years back. I go back there every summer, so I get to see all kinds of cars we don't get in the states! mom still has the astra, but we're selling it this summer, sadly. And yeah ,I appreciate not starting a 3rd convo. That'd be too much to juggle, haha!

Oh, and heads up, my first name is spelled with an "a" (Petar, instead of Peter)

well, it was nice, I guess. I come from an upper-middle class family there, so private school, sheltered childhood and all that. Not really much to say. The weather was nice most of the time, you could swin in open pools in the summer, and ski in the winter without going more than 2 hours from home.

The cars? well, most are Euro-only (opels peugeotots, Renaults, dacias etc.) a lot of people drove VW's ,and a lot of teens had modified yugos. Those were really crazy! a 125hp, 1800lb car on ghetto coilovers and 4 wheel drum brakes? sign me up!

Hahaha! I would do that ALL the time, but the other way around. My father drives stupendously slowly, so putting MHP would be like:"Are you kidding me dad, we are going 20! You see that lady on a wheelchair, yeah, she just put the left blinker on"
